Author Guy Clark Reads in Santa Barbara Aug. 19

Author Guy Clark M.D. will read excerpts from his new book, "Sharkbait: A Flight Surgeon's Odyssey in Vietnam," on Saturday, Aug. 19 (2017) from 3-5 p.m. at Tecolote Book Shop in Santa Barbara. (1470 East Valley Road, Suite 52, Santa Barbara, CA 93108.)

After the reading, Clark will take questions and sign copies of "Sharkbait," a memoir of the year he spent as physician and co-pilot to the elite squadron of Air Force combat pilots flying missions out of Cam Ranh Bay in 1966-67.

Military readers have called it "a richly-detailed insider's look into America's Vietnam War journey...and a deeply personal window into this seminal area in American History."

Kirkus Reviews said of Clark and the book: "He writes intelligently, illuminating events and the insights they evoked...This isn’t a fast-paced memoir; instead, it’s more of an excavation of the many particulars of military life and is interspersed with thrilling adventure in the skies of Vietnam...rich with vividly recalled episodes of aerial warfare.”
